Stratalicious

Today I participated in another fun-filled class with friend and artist, Mary Beth Shaw. MB has been hard at work on a new series inspired by rocks and the many different layers visible in rock formations. Stratalicious was a wonderful class exploring these strata and interpreting them on clayboard. My work from the class is seen at left. MB has more tricks up her sleeves than can be imagined and shares so freely her many ideas for adding texture, color, depth, dimension....ROCK ON!

Painting Circles with Mary Beth Shaw

Today I had the good fortune to take a painting class with Mary Beth Shaw, "Moving in the Right Circles." What a wonderful class. Using an analogous color palette, various texture mediums, wood icing, acrylics, alcohol inks, various pens/pencils, and collage and working on clayboard, we created a series of abstract paintings. In just one day, I completed 4 6x6 paintings. If Mary Beth repeats this class, it's definitely not to be missed!
